Cloud DevOps Engineer

We’re looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our core team and make an impact on a critical challenge: discovering drug candidates to cure key diseases. You will work in an interdisciplinary team of in silico drug hunters, physicists, medicinal chemists and machine learning engineers.

Job description

As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for enabling our research team to deliver novel compounds with speed, efficiency, and precision. You will collaborate with our teams of software engineers, drug hunters, and machine learning engineers on a daily basis to understand their needs and constraints and to design and implement internal software tools.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop a solid understanding of the company’s vision and of the needs and goals of our research team and to focus on solving mission-critical problems.
  • Build and improve our cloud infrastructure for large-scale distributed computing and data management.
  • Propose and implement cloud infrastructure optimizations to improve performance, to bolster security and to decrease costs.
  • Design and implement MLOps pipelines to manage the lifecycle of various machine learning models and monitor their performance.
  • Build infrastructure-as-code templates for the different components of our internal stack.
  • Set up continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.

Candidate profile:

  • You have experience implementing CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions,GitLab CI or a similar tool and you have experience provisioning and managing cloud infrastructures on AWS.
  • You have experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code templates inAWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or a similar tool with a strong understanding of good practices to ensure information security in code and on cloud infrastructures and you have a good understanding of containerization.
  • You are curious about science: you will be working at the intersection of physics, chemistry, and biology.
  • It would be nice if you are also proficient in production-ready Python, if you have experience in administering managed services like AWS Batch and if you have already delivered serverless applications. 
  • You are passionate about solving difficult problems on topics that really matter.
  • You are curious, willingful, dynamic and you want to grow and help others grow as well. You like working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced environment. You believe in silico/AI can have strong impact on how to find new drugs and you want to join a small team to bring your own impact in drug discovery.
