HPC Engineer

We’re looking for a HPC Engineer to join our core team and make an impact on a critical challenge: discovering drug candidates to cure key diseases. You will work in an interdisciplinary team of in silico drug hunters, physicists, medicinal chemists and machine learning engineers.

Job description

The HPC/Cloud Engineer will be responsible for providing HPC and cloud related application and infrastructure support to software engineers, drug hunters, and machine learning engineers. The HPC engineer will be playing a crucial role in developing high performance computing infrastructure in cloud, preferably AWS, build scientific applications and further ensure the usability and availability of the systems while directly working with the scientists.

What you’ll do

  • Design and deploy state-of-art HPC solutions to run scientific workflows
  • Manage project budget, risks, timeline and resourcing
  • Coordinate with resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively and assigns tasks and deliverables to team members
  • Manage, motivate and mentor cross-functional and enterprise project teams
  • Evaluate Industry trends to identify areas for optimization


  • Ability to build high performance computing concepts on-premises or cloud
  • Experience in using AWS cloud components, especially, creating VPCs, EC2 instances, EBS volumes, S3, Glacier, load balancing, auto scaling and HPC clusters
  • Expert knowledge in at least one of the grid engine software (Slurm, UGE, etc), preferably UGE
  • Working experience with Docker and/or containers services
  • Previous working experience in DevOps environment
  • Experience with Cloudformation and Terraform is nice to have
